A design steeped in history

The product is 180mm high, and the original design was very en vogue in Victorian houses where the parlour would often have the tallest skirting in the property. Skirting was given more prominence in rooms where guests were in residence; the higher the room's importance, the more ornate and striking the resulting décor would be - the original design inspiration for the skirting centres around the decoration at the foot of Roman columns. Skirting would also be paired with plaster coving, framing the wall, top and bottom.

Practicality

Aside from the decorative nature of PRO-regency, there is a practical argument for taller skirting. One of the main reasons for the invention and utilisation of skirting boards was for wall protection. Plaster is prone to damage from bumps and scuffs, so in busier areas it makes sense to use a larger skirting, covering a larger area at the base of your walls.

PRO-regency is a demountable product which provides considerable benefits - wall decoration is fast, clean and straightforward. As the skirting board's back is hollow, it is also a simple process to hide cabling, which would prove to be unsightly otherwise. PRO-regency is a fully finished skirting board and is pre-finished in a robust and smooth white powder coating. Cut to length and clip into place with the brackets supplied.
